Lakeland - Winter Haven - What you need to know before you go

The Lakeland – Winter Haven area of Florida is, as the name suggests, packed with lakes and year-round sunshine. There are 38 named lakes around Lakeland alone, with plenty of unnamed waters, too. As for the winter sunshine, the temperatures rarely drop below the 10°C (50°F) mark in winter, with barely a cloud in sight to interrupt your sunbathing.

The other main attraction of the area is Legoland Florida. It almost seems out of place to have a first-class theme park in what is otherwise a fairly quiet, unassuming part of the state, but you can add visits to nearby Kissimmee and Orlando to your itinerary and make it a wild, family-friendly vacation.
