Idaho

What you need to know before you go

Idaho is blessed with wildernesses that make it popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Walking the seemingly endless hikes through forest and mountain landscapes, enjoying a dip in a natural hot spring, kayaking through whitewater rapids, and camping beside gushing waterfalls are all popular activities in this northwestern state. Yellowstone National Park is undoubtedly the biggest draw in Idaho, but there’s plenty more to discover. In winter, follow the crowds to the Sun Valley mountain resort for excellent skiing and snowboarding.

It’s not all action and adventure in Idaho. With over 30 wineries and plenty of craft beer breweries in the state, you can take life slow and enjoy some fantastic food and drink here. Head to the state capital of Boise or the town of Idaho Falls to find excellent dining and some interesting museums and galleries.
