Iowa is a Midwestern state in the United State situated between the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and known for its historic buildings, arts and cultural attractions, and museums. The capital of Des Moines features the Iowa State Capitol building that dates to the 1800s, as well as Pappajohn Sculpture Park and the collection of contemporary works at the Des Moines Art Center. Other important works of art can be found at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, which showcases an expansive collection of paintings by Grant Wood. Adventureland Park in Altoona offers more than 100 rides plus live entertainment, games, food and other family-friendly attractions.</p> 

  

<p>Historic sites in Iowa include the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, which celebrates the birthplace and commemorates the burial site of the president. The Effigy Mounds National Monument offers hiking around a scenic archaeological site. The American Gothic House Center showcases the site immortalised in the famed Grant Wood painting, while Amana Colonies offers German villages, gift and boutique shops, and dining.
