Malibu

What you need to know before you go

Malibu is a city just west of Los Angeles known for its upscale mansions, celebrity homes, wide sandy beaches, hiking and outdoor recreation, historic sites, shopping, dining and nightlife. Zuma Beach is among the more iconic beaches in the region with its wide expanses of powder-soft sand and crystal clear waters. Equally iconic is Malibu Lagoon State Beach, colloquially known as Surfrider Beach for its popularity with the surfing set. Adamson House offers Spanish Revival architecture and local history displays. Outdoor experiences can be found in the nearby Santa Monica Mountains with their canyons, waterfalls and grassy knolls.

Malibu Wine Hikes give a chance to tour the local wine region and wineries with tastings available. The Frederick R. Weisman Museum at Pepperdine University showcases Californian art. Malibu also offers many indoor and outdoor shopping opportunities, including the famed Malibu Village centre with its local boutiques, fine dining establishments, and luxurious high-end retail brand outlets.
