Lake Tahoe Airport is a year-round all-weather facility serving non-commercial flights across North America. It’s a 15-minute journey from South Lake Tahoe but hasn’t served passenger planes since 2000. The airport is now an important military and general aviation stronghold for Nevada.
Operated by the City of South Lake Tahoe, this airport is a hotspot for fuel and ground support for a wide variety of aircraft across the Reno-Tahoe region.
Before considering flying to Lake Tahoe Airport, it is essential to understand that this is a general aviation airport and therefore does not cater to any commercial airlines. As such, the only travellers flying in and out of this airport are those on private flights.
