The Summit Skyride is a Swiss cable-car that carries passengers up the side of Stone Mountain, which stands over 825 feet high. This distance is covered quickly, as the cable-car glides smoothly at high speeds, providing views of the relief carvings on the face of Stone Mountain.

The carving on Stone Mountain’s face stands at over 90 feet high, and 190 feet in width, and commemorates the Confederacy’s loss. Stone Mountain’s geology is composed predominantly of quartz monzonite, and it is estimated that the mountain originally formed over 300 million years ago.
