The San Antonio Botanical Gardens offers 38-acres of vibrant flowers, native Texas plants, historic buildings, and new-age structures of glass that contain plants from across the globe. Children are sure to love the Mays Family Display Garden and Family Adventure Garden.
A CHEF Teaching Kitchen offers garden-to-table cooking classes and presentations that feature local Texas ingredients. The facility also hosts regular events that have included Rose in the Garden, Storytime in the Garden, and Films by Moonlight in the Garden. Rosella at the Garden offers cocktails, brunch, and drinks and you can also purchase snacks and refreshments at the Garden Gift Shop.

Highlights of San Antonio Botanical Gardens
The San Antonio Botanical Gardens offers an impressive variety of themed gardens. The Family Adventure Garden comprises 15 areas featuring opportunities to play in nature. Kids will love playing in the sand and water and building forts in areas like Huisache Way, No Name Creek, Tumble Hill, and Backyard Explore, which is centred around an enchanting giant oak tree.
In the Lucile Halsell Conservatory, you'll find plants from Mexican deserts, tropical rainforests, South Africa, and other exotic locations, all housed in magnificent glass buildings. Other garden areas include Kumamoto En, Greehey Lawn, the Schumer House, temporary exhibits, the Texas Native Trail, and more.

Good to know about San Antonio Botanical Gardens
You'll find the San Antonio Botanical Gardens located on Funston Place, just south of North New Braunfels Avenue, and there is plenty of free parking. Children under 3 are admitted for free, and discounts are available for students, seniors, and military personnel.
If you would like to sprawl out and relax for a while, you're permitted to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy a break. Guests are allowed to bring water bottles, but food and other drinks are not allowed in the garden. While you're in the area, you may also enjoy a stop at the nearby Witte Museum.
