Historic Virginia Key Beach Park offers natural splendour and a storied past on a barrier island minutes from City centre Miami. Early beginnings date to 1896 with the formation of Miami. In the years following, segregation in the South was a reality. Virginia Key Beach was one of the few unofficial exceptions, allowing black patrons.

The park was added to the National Register of Historic places in 2002. Today, Historic Virginia Key Beach Park is thriving and open to all communities. Locals, visitors, families, and couples head here to enjoy an array of activities.
