The Governor's Mansion is the official home of the governor of Georgia and a Greek Revival-style home that's open to the public for tours. Inside, you'll be able to see historical furnishings and artefacts of the previous governors who lived there. The furnishings are officially owned by the state.

One of the most impressive aspects of the Governor's Mansion is the exterior design. You'll find massive columns outside that are made from California redwoods and reach heights of 24 feet. Additionally, the surrounding land is similar to a park, complete with plenty of trees and walking paths. You'll also find a picturesque Georgia marble fountain in the entrance.

Inside the mansion, you can see even more artefacts amongst the 3 levels. The furniture within is one of the best Federal period collections of historic furnishings in the entire country, with many pieces being considered museum quality.

Before you embark on your tour of the Governor's Mansion, there are some important things to know. Tours are only available in the morning, so you'll need to arrive early.
