Freedom Park highlights
One of the best aspects of Freedom Park is the array of public art installations. You'll find some truly iconic pieces like Homage to King, which is a sculpture that was crafted by an artist from Barcelona. The sculpture is dedicated to Atlanta activist and protester Martin Luther King, Jr.
When you visit this park, you may find an event taking place. While the types of events vary, farmers' markets tend to be the most common. Every month out of the year, except for January and February, you'll find a farmers market held on Saturday mornings with vendors, live music, and more.
Good to know when visiting Freedom Park
Freedom Park is known for being welcoming, so you don't have to hesitate to take the whole family along when you visit. The walking paths are well-maintained and easy to traverse, so even people with limited mobility can enjoy the sights and scenery. There's also a dog park, so you can bring your pup along to run and play.
Visiting this park will put you close to quite a few other iconic spots in the city. You'll find yourself within walking distance of Little 5 Points, city centre, Inman Park, and Old Fourth Ward.
