This was our second time at Mia Reef. Overall, our stay was good but the resort does need some major maintenance - wear and tear are very noticeable throughout. For example - shakey faucet, low water pressure, scratches on some furniture. The beaches are unbeatable on the island however! They never disappoint.

You go to the mia reef for the location. There is nothing else like it. Being said this is our third time staying here. The hotel up keep is falling short. The beach is shrinking yearly. But The staff as always is amazing. Shot out to the bar staff and waiters they do make your stay as amazing as you make it.

The location was amazing! The rest not good. Only two places to eat. The buffet was small and limited options. The power went out on us one of the nights for 20-30 minutes. The hot water didn’t work the last morning I was there. I would not stay there again.

The hotel is very good and has everything we were looking for. But I want say that the service is excellent! We went to the restaurant Las Marias, for Mexican and Italian food for three nights and the servers, Tomas and Patricio are excellent, nice guys! Thank you for everything
Talking about the beach, simply a Paradise, best beach ever!

We went with our two small children. Location was amazing and the beachfront was small but didn’t feel over crowded. We have been to isla before and knew we wanted to stay here due to no large waves on the beach. Especially for our small children.
Beach service was slow due to not enough staff on site. The hotel itself was ok. Didn’t feel high end. We stayed in the villas. The rooms were small and didn’t even have anything special. Food was good but redundant. Felt fresh but not varied.
I probably won’t stay here again. It was overpriced.

Location and food were great. Rooms were clean. Staff was nice and the owner was there during our visit looking at the facility. I think improvements are coming. Overall they cater to families and little kids. We felt safe and the fish were plentiful.

Loved the water! Beach is crowded and smells from the seaweed, it needs to be cleaned up daily. We stayed in the villas which smelled like sewer outside. One of the employees told us they don't need to have the best hotel because of the location.

Overall experience was good away from resort. Nice for the room upgrade, greatly appreciated.
Inside reception area very clean, smelled amazing.
Not enough food choices (to me).
The room smoke detector or carbon monoxide alarms didn’t work, water want hot, took 45 minutes to get fresh towels, tv was in Spanish unable to get help changing settings, unable to properly secure the room while asleep the door lock latch thing was broken.

For 3 out of 5 days, we did not have any water at all. The other 2 days has cold water. The WiFi did not work at our room. The bird sanctuary outside our VIP room left a strong bird poop smell and had bird loud all throughout the night. It kept us awake many nights. The staff would not help with the water issue and tried to say the entire island was out when in fact it wasn’t. Very disappointed. The manager said because we booked through Expedia, there was nothing they could do.

I prepaid through Expedia, but they asked me to pay extra taxes, fees, etc. Also, there are tons of mosquitos in bedroom. I caught over 100 mosquitos, but they kept coming into the bedroom somehow. My wife and I got over 100 mosquito bites over 2 nights and we couldn't sleep.

The location of this property is truly the only thing I absolutely loved.
The food was mediocre at best, the rooms were outdated and small and the beds very hard!!. The hotel was unkept and dirty, except for the lobby. You can not get drinks with top shelf liquor unless you’re part of the “MIA Club”. For 2 days we had no hot water due in the hotel. The towel hut to get beach towels is only open from 9am-5pm. So if you have an early morning excursion, make sure you get your towel the day before. They run out of wine daily, they run out of the fish at the ceviche bar by 4pm (and it’s only open for 1pm-6pm).
All in all, sadly this all inclusive is not for me.

This resort is beautiful but i need they need to upgrade it in every way. I was there 5 years ago and the place took my breath away but now that i went in July, everything looks old? I don't know i just this that if the do a make over of the place it would be like sooooo nice. The staff there though omg theyre so nice and attentive especially LUIS (the bartender) hes the best 👌 👍

The property does not live up to the pictures online. It is a bit dated and not the cleanest. The pool was murky and had loads of tiles breaking off so one entrance was blocked off as someone cut their foot on the loose tiles. The hot water went out which was not the end of the world since it was so hot. Food options are very limited. Overall the stay was pleasant but not sure we would rush back in a hurry. The ocean was truly amazing and the best part of the hotel.
