"The beach at this hotel was gorgeous. We left a hotel close to Mamitas Beach because of the sargassum and the smell and color. We made our way down to this hotel and it was wonderful. The staff was very attentive, the food was delicious, and the area was very quiet and cozy. Will definitely be back. We typically stay in the busier area of town, but a taxi ride was 10-15 min away and cost $100-200 pesos. "

"We just returned from a wonderful stay at Playacar Palace. Staff, facilities and food was incredible. Location is great - walk to Cozumel ferry with free access to Cozumel Palace hotel - just show your Palace hotel bracelet. Resort credits were very helpful for spa and dolphin swim. Only downside was the lack of beach but everything else made up for it. "

"This was an amazing hotel for the budget. Our family of five was able to share one room (two bedrooms) comfortably. The pool was great for my boys (aged 11, 6 and 4) and we enjoyed breakfast daily. The location was really our only complaint. We love to walk places and there really wasn't anywhere to safely walk, so we ended up taking cabs into town daily. The hotel did offer a shuttle one of the days when it was available. "

"I would have to say that the resort just felt a little tired and hung over. The staff was friendly and very hard working but it’s as if the best days behind the tequilla and playacar are behind them. The a la cartes were very disappointing actually. The pools at the riu were clean and had ample chairs which was nice. The beach was excellent and easy to access. Playacar is a safe and quiet community. Over all…just ok. Usually i can’t wait to rebook but for an odd reason I’m not...

"There is much that is very good about Eurostars Hacienda Vista Real Hotel but it isn't for everyone. My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly but we enjoyed it most because it was safe and quite and beautiful. AND because the staff were so friendly and helpful. They have done a lot of work to upgrade the facility but it still requires work that appears to be ongoing. "

"Although our stay was only for a few days, the staff at the entire resort was very helpful and friendly! From the front desk, to the bellhops, housekeeping and the restaurant servers. "It’s a 20-minute walk to the Ado bus station and downtown. The hotel was nice and well-maintained—a great value for the price. Breakfast had a Mexican theme, though the selection of eggs and omelets could have been a bit more varied. The bike rental option was great; since it’s close to the main street, you can walk 5 minutes to catch the mini-bus to Cenote Azul or hop on a minibus to Tulum."

"The first place we booked cancelled on us right when we landed in Mexico and we booked it a month ahead of time. I had Kaab saved in my favorites so I booked it from the cab leaving the airport. We lucked out! What a great place! Will book here in the future because my wife loves Playa Del Carmen. A quick walk to tons of great restaurants and shopping, but far enough away that it felt secluded and quiet. Absolutely perfect"
