"The food and drinks were a little price, but at least the food portions were very large. Enough for 2 meals. Some of the staff were very welcoming and nice, however, there were some that were not. Very disappointed about that. Due to that, I would not stay again, but overall, nice facility, clean, safe, but I’m really big on the staff. 5 stars for most, 3 for ‘some’ of the staff. *Also, I rarely write reviews, but this was needed. "The hotel was very clean and well-staffed, with a private check in for those staying in rooms with lounge access. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in the lounge, when breakfast, afternoon tea and snacks/drinks served in the evening. A relaxed atmosphere with attentive service. The room was recently refurbished, an excellent size and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the turn down service a classy touch that has been mostly forgotten in modern hotels. The only gripe is an Intercontinental hotels policy that restricts TV volume to a barely audible '20' that required subtitles to understand what was being said. There appears no way to change that but when the air conditioning unit is on, it's inaudible. A very enjoyable stay and a hotel I'd return to. "

"The Stanley is a great hotel to stay at while visiting Athens. Here are some detailed notes about the property. Room: -Stayed in a room with twin beds -Bed was large and allowed us to both sleep comfortably (long enough for tall guests– I am 6-foot-2) -Bedding and pillows were very comfortable -In-room air conditioning was powerful and allowed us to sleep at a comfortable temperature–perfect for people who prefer to sleep cold -Balcony was large and featured solid views of downtown Athens, the valley/surrounding mountains -Curtains blocked most of the light, but if you are sensitive to light, bring an eye mask -Other room features: mini-fridge, safe for valuables, coffee maker Hotel/Amenities: -Amazing rooftop pool with stunning views of the Acropolis, downtown Athens, and sea/mountains on a clear day -Comfortable lounge chairs/beds at the pool -Huge restaurant/bar with amazing views -Elevators were a bit small and slow, so patience is sometimes required (also have stairs to all rooms if you prefer to walk) -Friendly hotel staff and cleaning crews -Relatively quiet rooms–did not hear neighbors, but the hallway can get a bit loud after 10 AM Location: -Hotel is located right next to the Metaxourgeio metro stop, which makes travel to major sites quick, easy, and affordable -Felt safe walking around streets at night, even though many surrounding buildings/streets appear rundown -Great bakery/coffee shop steps away from the hotel"

"Spotlessly clean and super comfortable bed, silky soft bedsheets and duvet cover, recently renovated with a large tv and modern furnishings . Great location just 10 min walk from the metro and 5 minutes from bus stops . Several Bakeries and cafes within short distance, but the hotel breakfast buffet was very versatile "

"Everything about the Athens gate hotel was great! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Easy walk to plaka, the acropolis, all types of food, the city for buses stop very close. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. Room 501 has perfect view of the temple of Zeus and from the corner of the balcony you can see the Parthenon too. I don't think I'd ever want to stay anyplace else. The only minor thing is few power receptacles and none are dual voltage, only European plugs and none in the bathroom. The balcony door really blocks the traffic noise well. Can't recommend highly enough!"
