The Real Jardin Botanico is a massive, vibrant 20-acre expanse of greenery in Madrid, Spain, a two-and-a-half centuries-old public park well known for its diverse plants and elegant, sprawling pathways. With an entrance beside the Prado Museum in Plaza de Murillo, today’s gardens consist of over 2,000 different varieties of plants, approximately 90,000 flowers and plants and 1,500 trees total.

The garden is sectioned into seven exhibition areas outdoors and five conditioned greenhouses, allowing for the survival and growth of species unsuited to Madrid’s humid Mediterranean climate. The greenhouses support tropical, temperate and desert climates.
