The German Museum of Technology is a fun destination for kids and adults alike as it shows off the development of technology including rail transport, aircraft and computers. The museum was originally founded to exhibit locomotive achievements, but it has since grown to include aviation and computer tech as well, making it particularly of interest to kids.
Kids will especially enjoy how interactive this museum is, along with the sheer size of its exhibits. Even the computer exhibits are quite large due to the size of the historic machines on display. It's located by the U Gleisdreieck underground station, and it's the building with the big plane on top.

Computerspielemuseum is a video game museum where adults and kids alike can explore the history of gaming with numerous exhibits and playable games. Around 300 exhibits are on display here, with some of the oldest dating back to the early '70s around the advent of the Magnavox Odyssey.
One of the most unique playable games here is the PainStation. An extreme version of Pong, this game subjects players to actual physical pain should they lose, such as heat or mild electrical shocks. Particularly young kids should not play this game. The museum is located off Karl-Marx-Allee in Friedrichshain.

The DDR Museum is a history museum designed to show what life was like in historical East Germany during the Cold War with recreated everyday scenes. The experience doesn't read like West German propaganda from the time, however, as this museum highlights both the positives and negatives of life in East Germany. Museum für Naturkunde is a major natural history museum in the country that's home to millions of specimens in the areas of zoology, palaeontology and mineralogy.
