"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend you try it. Has a new owner who is in the process of upgrading areas and training his staff even more. Our bedroom was comfortable, just no hairdryer at present. There was an issue with the heating while we were there but this was solved with a portable heater till it was fixed. Met two other lovely couples (only three rooms), we joined up for a great evening of quizzing, we came second!! Also have other entertainment throughout the week. Food...

"Four of us stayed and had a lovely experience. Very attractive hotel. Good service and great breakfast. Bus just outside to get into Torquay centre. Five minutes on bus saved taking the car. Could not fault the staff. Friendly and attentive. Would come again."

"The first room we were given was not up to 3 star standard.
We contacted reception the next morning and they were very considerate and we were offered an alternative room that was more acceptable. The location, food and the staff were excellent. We hope to return."

"Staff were fantastic, could not do more to help you. Food was lovely. Room was very basic, but clean, only thing I would suggest is to place fans in the room as it was extremely hot. Other than that I would stay there again. "

"The place is just walking distance to the harbour, restaurants and shops. Breakfast are good. Comfy bed. The only worst thing is it smells so bad everytime we open the door going in, it’s only that part immediately open the door from outside. I don’t know where it is coming from bcoz it don’t smell in the toilet, not inside the room. Only upon opening the room, maybe from the vent. I didn’t bother to inform the staff in reception as smell fades away. I should have really. We stayed in room 208....
