"There are lots of hotels to stay at in Kathmandu, but there is only one Shankar. Shankar has unmatched hospitality, with my personal favorite hosts Mr. Puri & Mr. Sharan who are both super stars. I always looked foward to chatting with them at meal times. Shankar has a mid-century modern motif, and it keeps the heritage of Nepal and Newari culture alive. Shankar also has an amazing garden to relax in and connect with nature after a long day in the city. "

"Amazing staff, Mr Anand Prakash and his staff at front desk was amazing. They took care of every small thing for a pilgrimage trip with seniors. Roos were spacious, clean, food was good. Would highly recommend this hotel except the access might be little jittery but doesn't matter too as you get the courtesy vehicle. "

"Bujan picked me up at the airport as pre-arranged and transferred me to the hotel. It was a pleasant comfortable journey and Bujan was friendly and hospitable. He proved equally friendly at the hotel checkin and efficiently got me set up in a well appointed spacious room with a nice view of the pool and garden for my short stay. "Very professional and courteous staff! Extremely helpful and attentive, and they made us feel very welcome! The property is a little oasis in a frenetic neighbourhood- lots of greenery, and a peaceful environment. Lovely breakfast, too! Great location for access to the Thamel vibe, (and shopping!), and walking distance to major sights. Highly recommend this hotel! ❤️"
