"We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. It isn’t a great location right next to the Barnyard which had some great restaurants and where my wife got a massage. It was also across the street from another strip mall that had a lot of other convenient places. And it was only 2 miles away from Carmel-by-the-Sea where we went and had a great dinner at La Bicyclette. We ended our night with a drink at the onsite restaurant which was very nice. I would definitely recommend this for your stay in Carmel."

Stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday. The room and service were great. Location was in the middle of downtown Carmel, so everything was walking distance. The breakfast meat quiche was delicious. The bathtub had jets, which was very relaxing. The parking lot is a bit tricky to maneuver, but there is also street parking. Walls might be a bit on the thin side. Definitely heard the next-door neighbors "in the act," which may have been the only negative part of our stay.
We booked this to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The hotel upgraded us to an ocean view at no charge. It was quiet and we could hear the ocean waves at night. There were e-bikes to rent which was great- the first hour was free. Breakfast was served to our room at the time we requested and a nightly turn down service with a cookie was an added bonus. The fitness room had a good amount of weights and the location of the hotel was so close to the ocean. I would definitely go back! Loved it!
I like this place because the location is 5 mins walk to the beach and 10 mins walk to downtown. Also 10 mins drive to Los Lobos Reserve. The staff are really nice. This hotel offers most of the things one might expect from a good hotel for a short stay. It's conveniently located close to everything but at the same time it's quiet enough. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean, nicely decorated, had everything necessary and some extras (drinking water, in-house prepared nuts and candies, coffee). Very pet friendly place. Very close to all the downtown shops and restaurants. In addition, the hotel is just down the street from the beach. Best place so far for a pet vacation.
The Pine Inn is an older hotel. Great location to everything! The furnishings are dated but that is what makes the hotel so unique. Rooms/hotels are very clean with beautiful grounds that are so well kept. Amenities - it would have been nice if they had coffee for the guests. We had a very nice ocean view but note the street below can be very noisy at 6 am in the morning. There are no fans or air conditioning so we had the windows opened a lot. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cottage was amazing and very appropriate for a 4-person family. So much better than a hotel room! My daughters did not want to leave and are already asking when we can go back. Breakfast and snacks available made the mornings and afternoon munchies very easy. Great selection of DVD's. We will be making this our annual vacation place for sure!
Loved the outdoor fireplace; even though it's public, it's built for privacy. Loved being able to walk to the main street shopping and the beach. I will stay here again.
The grounds are beautifully decorated and inspire serenity. For the price though, the carpet was stained, the side table lamp had a terrible odor, the tiles in bathroom were coming off and the tub sealant was cracked. We did enjoy the location of our room, the fireplace, the breakfast and the service was excellent.
