Serene and beautiful. The food was delicious…each presentation a work of art. To be able to go to the dining for breakfast and for dinner in the pajamas, that were provided fresh each day, was a treat and added to the R & R. The hot springs soaking tub on the balcony of our room was pure heaven.

Booked this room for the private onsen and it was quite a lovely experience. We brought our luggage to them early in the morning and asked them to hold it until our check in so we could explore and after we checked in and made it to our room they sent someone to bring the luggage up. There was a breakfast buffet included with our room and it had a really nice variety of foods from western to Japanese. Staff spoke great English

Beautiful property and a very spacious room. Would highly recommend upgrading to a room with an outdoor soaking tub (WORTH IT). Bed was comfortable but difficult due to it being two beds pushed together so there is a small gap in the mattresses. Excellent lighting and sitting area in the room. Breakfast had a wide variety of options with a mix of western food and Japanese food but taste was average. Shuttle service is available but very busy so slots filled up quickly.

Staff and service were excellent! Also enjoyed their breakfast buffet. Room was nicely appointed and spacious. Laforet is located in a little hilly tight road location and walked to the hotel is about 7 to 15 minutes from Gora station. There was a shuttle in the morning to take us back to Gora station. Overall, I will stay again at the hotel when I visit the Hakone area again.

If you're visiting Hakone, I definitely recommend Laforet Hakone Gora Yunosumika for even a night. Though it's a splurge, it was totally worth it. We slept and dined like royalty -- the rooms were so clean and hip/trendy! Our dinners were delicious and memorable, too. The staff was also extremely kind and offered lots of amenities, like shoes and yukata for using the onsen. The public and private onsens were top notch -- and so relaxing after a week of traveling. The hotel's located not far from some charming mom-and-pop shops and konbinis, too -- but the hotel basically has everything you might need during your stay.

Laforet Hakone hotel - not recommended

The hotel is nice as ling as you take a room at the new building and not the main one. Rooms at the main building have poor air condition. The staff is not that friendly. The location of the hotel is far from almost everything. Taxi is needed to go anywhere but - there almost no taxis who are approaching the hotel area. Careful with that especially on your checkout day if you plan the time to catch a train from somewhere. We had to walk to the local train station and to postpone out shinkensan train to our next destination.

The hotel is clean and quiet. However the dining choice is limited and the transportation is s not that convenience. Cable car stop service earlier and shuttle bus service is very limited. I booked a room for up to 4 people and I marked that we are a group with 2 adults and a child at 13 in my booking. However, I was told that I need to pay the additional fee of about yen 39,000 for my child. The extra cost is unexpected and is not stated clearly in advance. After rounds of negotiations, the officer at the reception agreed to cut the fee down.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It was very well appointed and had everything we needed. There was even a private onsen off the shower room. The hotel was very accommodating with a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off. It was a great experience. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

It was a really nice experience. It was great that we had to take our shoes off at the entrance it really sets the vibe tha this is a true Ryokan. The room was super clean and well thought out. The facilities overall were excellent as well. Onsen was super clean and the Yukatas that they provided were fun and comfortable to wear during our stay.

Lovely Hot Spring Hotel

We nooked 3 rooms with private onsen for our family trip. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The bed and pillows were a bit hard for my taste, but we were so relaxed after the bath that we slept well. The included dinner was amazing with delicious, beautifully presented plates.
