The hotel was clean and fairly updated, however upon arrival it was very concerning to see elderly and physically disabled guests struggling up or down the stairs by the reception desk. It didn't seem that there was any other staff outside of the person at the front desk, possibly to help people with their bags. The hotel has no elevator.
We stayed over a weekend, and were told at our check in that our room was in the wing above the bar connected to the hotel. Saturday nights were apparently karaoke night, and it would wrap up around 11pm. The trend of music tended towards hard rock/metal/rock, and this went on directly below our room until midnight, after which loud music continued playing in the bar until 1am.
If you are told you are staying in the wing above the bar, and you're there over a Saturday night, I strongly recommend asking to be moved to a different area of the hotel. There was absolutely no way we could have slept before the music stopped, even with earplugs.
