Perfectly decent place to stay. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and the hotel is conveniently located for the city centre and local train services.

A classic Victorian hotel, which is well maintained in the public areas but the rooms are basic and tired. It is not an expensive hotel and there is parking on site, so I have no complaints. If the hotel car park is full, there is a large car park opposite. The hotel is directly opposite Exeter Central rail station and close to town with plenty of dining options.

I was a little concerned looking at other reviews but honestly, this hotel was Lovely, clean and really comfortable. Very central and staff so helpful. Yes, there are some areas that are a little worn but unless you are really picky, I’m not sure they are enough to cause any concern. Priority for me is cleanliness, which it was, nice team members, which they were and comfortable room for great night sleep. Shower was brilliant and have no complaints at all. Keep on doing all you are doing. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back.

Unfortunately for us, the beds were hard, lumpy and needed updating as had dents in. There were loud clunking noises all through the night meaning disrupted sleep Stains in the carpet and thick dust in the sofa arm rests. I would say it would have been £60 for the room not the £220 we paid for.

I love this Hotel, Its a beautiful building, so steeped in history, it should be a wonderful stay, but I am getting more and more disappointed every time I stay.

Authentic historical building with lots of pictures and books telling the story of a place. Staff is very helpful and welcoming, room and all hotel area is clean, breakfast is fine. Enjoyed my staying there.

The hotel is lovely and in an excellent central location. The room was good & bed comfy but even though there was a fan on the room it was still unbearably hot (this was not during the heatwave either).

Prima verblijf, centraal, tegenover het station. Overigens geen geluidsoverlast. Kamer was erg warm en moeilijk te koelen, wel stond er een ventilator. Bedden waren goed en badkamer was keurig.
