Yeonggeumjeong is a beautiful, bright pavilion which lights up the dark sea at night. It is named for the sound you can hear as the waves crash into the rocks below, which is said to sound like a ‘geomungo’, a traditional Korean zither. The Expo Tower, where you can see the city of Sokcho as well as Ulsanbawi Rock and Daecheongbong if the weather permits, is the perfect place to enjoy the night view of Sokcho. Abai Village is the best place to view the Seorak Bridge, which passes overhead. You will be overwhelmed by its splendid structures and massive scale.

Near the white Sokcho lighthouse, there is a pavilion called Yeonggeumjeong. It is named for the sound of the waves crashing against the nearby rocks, which sound like a geomungo (zither), a traditional Korean string instrument. Below Yeonggeumjeong Pavilion, there is a smaller pavilion built right by the sea, so that you can watch the sunrise. At night, the road connecting the pavilion and the land sparkles with colourful lights. You can see Dongmyeong Port and Sokcho Port at a glance from Yeonggeumjeong. It is a very famous location for night scenery as the lights of the open sashimi restaurants and food stalls add a unique romance.

At the Café Chilseong Shipyard overlooking Cheongchoho Lake, you can enjoy a calm and elegant view of the lake at night. The moonlit scene of Cheongchoho Lake, as seen through the window of the cafe building which was converted from an old shipyard, looks somewhat lonely and lovely. When you step out of the building and look at the Chilseong Shipyard, it gives the feeling of being in a painting. The soft light of the incandescent lamps leaking through the window adds warmth to the aged exterior.
