Chiba has countless places offering days of fun for little or no expense. To stick to a tight budget, try to remember these three golden rules. The first is to look for facilities that are run by the country, the prefecture or the municipality. For example, Chiba Museum of Science and Technology and Hasunuma Park Children's Square can be enjoyed by the whole family at very reasonable prices. The second rule is to look for commercial facilities that are making good use of Chiba's vast area. Herb Garden Pocket in the city of Choshi and Isumi Poppo-no-Oka in Isumi are both commercial sites, so obviously it's free to get in, but you might be surprised by how much there is to see and enjoy at such locations. The third rule is to take advantage of Chiba's great factory tours, such as the Sapporo Beer Factory in Funabashi. Let's explore the best bits of Chiba that don't cost the earth.
