"Stayed here on a whim, travel a lot with work and try to pick small independent places where I can, usually with a pub. Unfortunately, the pub was shut as it was a Monday, but I just crossed the road and went there for food and drinks so no problem.
The room was beautiful, bright, very clean and very spacious. It looked newly decorated and done very tastefully, felt like I was staying in a stately home, not the local boozer! I mentioned to some locals I was working with that I was staying here...

"It is a beautiful and relaxing place and with historical importance. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bit expensive but then it is very big. If you have big appetite maybe it is worth it."

Breakast was included and it was tasty and fresh. We are vegan and it is the best hotel breakfast we have had. But the thing that elevates it is the staff. So helpful, attentive, and friendly. "The Punchbowl Inn was a lovely pub to stay at, the staff were very friendly, the food was amazing. The room was lovely and had a fantastic view of the dales. If I had to be picky it would have been nice to have a shower curtain or screen over the bath as using the shower head I tended to flood the floor, but the water was lovely and hot. and I would return again."

"Lovely period house full of character with 3 floors of bedrooms. The rooms are elegantly appointed with real antique furniture. Our room had a claw foot bath and comfy double bed. Breakfast was a feast of locally produced sausages, bacon, eggs, black pudding and bread. I never eat black pudding but this was delicious so give it a try. Friendly owner was very helpful."
