"Room was lovely, breakfast great. Only downside was the false fire alarm at 7.00 in the morning. But the staff handled it all professionally & without fuss."
"The room was very clean and modern. The pool area is great to relax in and to swim some laps (25m long). The gym facilities are great with dumbbells, cable machines and bikes. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was also great! Highly recommend :)"
Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Little Collins by IHG
8/10 Good
"Everything was great apart from actually finding the entrance to the motel. There is a sign hanging outside on the building but nothing once you walk inside to indicate that you are in the right place. Even the lifts don't have any Holiday Inn signage.
There was an older lady outside who I asked if she knew how to get inside and she told me it was further up the road. I rang the motel number which went to an overseas call Centre so that was no help.
Another traveler came to ask me if i knew how to get in so we went back to the older lady and she told us to go in and around to the lift which we did to find some younger guys in black clothing manning the lifts (no indication that they worked for Holiday Inn or a Security business) plus a female on the floor who was obviously under the influence of drugs which made it not a safe feeling to enter with my daughter.
Once we got out of the lift the ambience was much better and felt like the welcoming entrance you would have expected on walking into the building.
Room was small but everything was clean and tidy, staff were friendly, breakfast was delicious with a large variety. Would stay here again but not on my own due to the uncomfortable entrance."
"Visited Melbourne, from Sydney, for a weekend and stayed at the ibis Melbourne - Hotel & Apartments.
The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and the location was great.
Walking distance to the CBD, trains and trams with the Queen Victoria Markets only a short stroll up the street.
This is my go to place to stay when I am in Melbourne."
