Great location if you want to be closer to the historic sites like the Great Wall. The hotel is part of a complex of outlet stores, an amusement park and a hot spring. The service was fantastic. The restairants were excellent and the concierge and Lobby Bar staff were particularly attentive.
We were warmly greeted on arrival. The property is beautiful and clean and all the staff were gracious hosts. The hotel is located in a hutong so not able to get dropped off or picked up in front of the property but only a short walk to the cross street. The complimentary breakfast had many hold and cold options and had staple Beijing breakfast items. They served afternoon tea but did not partake in that. They brought fresh coffee and tea to our room whenever we requested. The location is a busy...
Staff was very friendly and helpful. I arrived at 5 am, long before check-in time. They went out of their way to get a room ready for me as fast as possible, and offered me free breakfast while I was waiting.
Great experience for Beijing ! A quaint boutique hotel located in one of the Beijing Hutongs, it offered us a unique local flavored experience. The facilities are traditional Chinese, with wooden floors and rustic themed rooms. However, rooms are fully equipped with everything you need. They also have cute little balconies from where you can drink tea while transporting yourself back in time. The staff was the best part. Very nice, always available and catering to our every need. Afternoon tea...
top of the line quality of suite materials and amenities as usual by Peninsula;
breakfast can be improved;
great concierge service;
friendliness of staff;
2 restaurants seems to be not enough for such a big institution
An excellent hotel in Beijing! The concierge team was outstanding, going above and beyond to secure entrance tickets to various sights of interest for us, which can be tricky for foreigners to do on their own. They were also super helpful in booking taxis, making our transportation hassle-free.
The breakfast at the hotel was fantastic, offering a large selection of both Chinese and Western items. The staff were incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different foods and how to enjoy...
There is a lot of competition for hotels in Beijing. This one lives up to its status as a luxury hotel. The decor is spectacular, filled with lacquer, silk, and original artwork. The staff is incredibly professional. I did have a problem with the wifi and the staff went out of their way to solve the problem. And the location is really good, not far from historical/cultural sites, restaurants, and a metro stop.
Beijing was our first leg of a China trip so we were still completely uncomfortable with the language barrier. The staff (especially Mark in concierge) spoke English well so that we could ask for assistance and advice. Staff throughout the stay are extremely nice... always smiling.
There is so much included in this hotel above and beyond the gorgeous decor and clean rooms. You could go the whole stay without paying for a meal (please tip the amazing staff though) because there is free breakfast...
Rosewood Beijing once again proved itself as my current best hotel option in the City. Having stayed at around 30 hotels in Beijing, this is the winner. Location is extraordinarily important in Beijing and this is perfectly central regardless of what you’re in town for. The rooms are phenomenal, food and service is good and Red Bowl is a mighty fine hotpot restaurant connected to the hotel which is well worth an evening’s commitment. The epic swimming pool is among the nicest in China and should...
Upon arriving my wife explained that we had a taxi that refused to use the meter and charged almost 4 times the usual fare. Having taken a picture of the side and license plate of the cab the concierge immediately called the cab company and the authorities on our behalf. After extensive discussion the entire fare was refunded later that day. Enquiries at the concierge desk were always handled with professionalism and friendliness not always found from concierges. If in Beijing again we would...
