What an absolute pleasure to stay at Lake Taupo Lodge. This stylish boutique lodge has a fantastic retro appeal and lake views. We stayed in the Cherrywood suite which was clean, cozy and roomy. The attention to detail is a highlight. I wished we had stayed longer to enjoy the gardens and patios. Breakfast was homecooked and 5 star! Hosts Gary and Shirley were lovely and helpful.
Great location and staff. Happy about almost everything except I can smell some odor from either the carpet or the bedding. The smell of it like some heavy hikers socks
The woman at the front desk (Sharon) was the nicest person I have ever spoken to in my life. I called the day before my check-in as I was planning to arrive later than when the front desk was open (they close at 9pm) and she was so pleasant and sweet on the phone. She gave me detailed instructions on how to get what I needed upon arrival to get into my room and where to park on the premises.
