The property and the room are perfectly kept. The bed and pillows are comfortable and the AC gets nice and cold. We enjoyed the pool in the evenings after spending some time sunning on Ocatal Beach.
When we arrived there was a hiccup at airport / rental car. I was very concerned but called Thisbee. She calmed me, explained options, and was a trusted colleague. The owners went well above their “jobs” to assure our stay was perfect, and it was.

When we arrived, the manager was called to tell us that unfortunately the hotel had been overbooked and our room had been given away. Needless to say, we were NOT HAPPY - especially because we had booked many months previous. Maik, the manager apologized profusely and told us that he had secured an oceanfront condo just a few hundred meters away for us.

I love El Manglar. The neighborhood is private, quaint and quiet - and so is the beach. It's low season. The property and rooms are beautiful, the restaurant at El Cantarana is picture perfect and the food delicious, the owners are friendly and accommodating.
This hotel was a little oasis. We were worried that Tamarindo was doing to be too busy and touristy but this hotel was located at the quiet end of the beach, which was only a short walk away. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance. We traveled as a family and ate most nights at a little group of food trucks, which weren't as expensive as the beach restaurants. The pool was lovely to cool down in after spending the mornings at the beach. We were in a standard room on the bottom...

You are a 20 minute walk to the main city center. I would highly recommend listening to the advice of the hotel staff and walk along the beach. The walk along the road would not be recommended, especially at night.

We love this hotel. It is a short walk to the beach, offers great facilities and had a great restaurant, all at a very reasonable nightly rate. During our stay the hotel had live music several nights. No worries about what to do, the hotel can arrange excellent tours to meet every desire. We loved the staff. They were very friendly, always helpful, knowledgeable, and treated us like family. Villa del Sueno will be our go to stay for a mid winter break in the future.
