The hotel is located near every convenience imaginable: supermarkets, local bars and tourist bars/restaurants as well as the beach within a 5 minute walking distance. If you want to feel you are living in a traditional Andalusian home with a glorious courtyard and have modern conveniences, this is your place. I will certainly return when next in Estepona.

I stayed at El Pilar last March and returned for one night because of the service, location and beautiful property. The front desk is always helpful and always wear a smile. The recognized I had been there in March, so check in was easy. The roof top bar is awesome as is a light breakfast downstairs.

Is my second time in this hotel, great service, spacious rooms. pretty clean and the view is phenomenal!

Excelente hotel. Las habitaciones de muy buen tamaño y cómodas. El servicio de 10! Las opciones para comer muy variado y delicioso. No pudimos utilizar las demás amenidades como spa y la alberca pero está muy completo. Lo recomiendo.

Great spot to stay for cheap and see Gibraltar! The neighborhood is super crowded and parking and driving are hard, but once you park and leave your car, it's easy to walk wherever you need to go. 5 minutes to the Gibraltar line, which is much easier to walk across than drive across (3+ hour wait to get back into Spain by car! 30 seconds to walk across.) The hostal was very clean and does itself a disservice by calling itself a hostal. Very comfortable, nice big window that opens, great big...

I loved the location, the staff and the aesthetics of the property. I highly recommend it.

You stay in a castle on the top of a hill. That alone is all you need to know. A unique place, people live in the castle with property being bought and sold. Interesting place just to walk around. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced for its location. We stayed in a two bedroom unit with kitchen--good if you were looking to stay a while, but we only stayed a day. The AC is great. We loved the hotel! It was fully booked and still you didn't feel it. The layout of the hotel facilities was great. The apartment had everything you need for a stay with small kids, it's quite spacious and comfortable. It was nice that we could choose to either go to the restaurant or have a homemade meal. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are wanting a calm and easy ambiance hotel with great pool area and bar. We were there for business and had quite a few documents to print up for clients meetings. The front desk was always happy to help with our every need. No charge. We had a very nice experience at this apartment/hotel. Check in was easy and everyone we encountered was very friendly or helpful if we needed anything. We chose this hotel because of the location.
