Cocolia Hotel

"If you are interested in being totally immersed in a beautiful natural environment, the Cocolia Hotel is a wonderful choice. The rooms are completely open to nature, as is the whole property. You are immersed by the beauty of the ocean and the jungle. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. Please be aware that there is no A/C anywhere on the property and the “feels like” temperature is 12+ degrees (F) above the actual temp, so it can be very, very hot, even at night. The food and drinks are very good but food options are naturally somewhat limited. The town below is very cute and has a nice beach and good restaurants, but it was also very hot (feels like temp over 104 F during the last week of August). I recommend staying for a long weekend during the cooler months."

"Beautiful and secluded. Great staff (from GM to Housekeeping) who were extremely accommodating, perfect weather. Sizable rooms that matched the pictures. Only downside is it could probably use a bit of a refurb inside cabanas to limit insect entrance & integrate better bathroom fixtures, stealing from the Mandarina O&O playbook (e.g., here, doors don’t seal with ceiling.)"

"Such a beautiful hotel. We stayed in the Tortuga suite and I’m absolutely in love with the bathtub. Beautiful room, beautiful amenities, we love the pool, and the food was also awesome! Highly recommend!"

"The hotel is beautiful, just keep in mind that there is no elevator. I can't remember if I saw that it didn't have an elevator, but you can request to be on the first floor if there are any available rooms. I didn't see this option, so our room was like at the third floor I believe. It was hard to having to go downstairs and the upstairs a lot of times, but we got our daily exercise lol. Other than that, the facility is very pretty. There is a lot of green areas, the pool is nice but I recommend to go when the sun is not very intense. The food was awesome, the staff were friendly, and they can also find you a taxi at the front desk which I found very helpful. There's also a guy in the reception that offers activities at an affordable price. The location is good, not the best but it can be close to a lot of things."
