Truly enjoyed my stay. I wanted something with a little character and not a typical hotel. Honestly booked just thinking it was an older Inn and didn't realize until later it was a bed and breakfast. I thought the room was a pretty decent price so was Pleasantly suprised I got a made to order breakfast with my room. The Proprietor is top notch when you need anything and is always happy to help. If you're ok with an older place with some character then I would highly recommend this place.

I stayed here one night on my way down to the Lake District. The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent as was service. (I particularly appreciated that they had gluten free bread available in the morning.) The room was very clean and charming with french doors opening to a private deck. There was a kettle, but a small fridge would have been nice. There was ample parking close to the door. Hosts were very friendly and easy to chat with. There is no place that I know of with a more scenic and tranquil view and setting on the Liddle Water. Set in Elliot territory on the edge of Armstrong lands in the ancient border lands of Liddesdale, this is an excellent location to start any journey through the area in discovering the area’s rich border reiver history. Jane and Michael and the most gracious hosts you will find. Morning coffee in the gazebo over the Liddle overlooking the pastures with the sound of the Black Byrn flowing below...
