"Beautiful area, amazing food, the hot springs out in nature are great. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the whole experience is amazing. Worth it even if it's just one night."
"We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The quality of accommodation was like a 5 star hotel and the staff were kind , very helpful and exemplified the spirit of the hotel name. Staying at this hotel was revitalizing and the natural beauty around the property with a most beautiful zen garden was very calming.
This hotel also offers a hearty Japanese style breakfast as well as a western option.
Highly recommended."
"The hotel staff were amazing. They were super helpful and kind. The onsen facilities were very clean and well kept. The onsen was what we needed after long walks. It was very relaxing. They also offered massage services. They had free Ramen in the late evening which was greatly appreciated and free cold refreshments after going to the onsen. This was an excellent stay. I would visit again."

Hotel is north of all attractions but lots of public transportation and taxis to get you to where you need to go. Very tranquil and away from hustle and bustle
To start the staff is absolutely kind and hospitable. They really make you feel at home even if you’re 1000s of miles from it. Second, the actual hotel and scenery is out of a dream. An actual fairy tale! It made me fall in love with Japan even more. Third, everything was super clean and neat. And lastly, the complimentary items were just unbelievable! I will recommend anyone and everyone to this beautiful place. I will forever be grateful for everyone there!
The staff were extremely helpful, the location was ideal, and we were pleasantly surprised at the size and amenities of the room, especially considering the price. Highest recommendation.
I cannot recommend this place enough! It was so relaxing, beautiful, and the staff was incredible! They offer traditional and local breakfast and dinner that rivaled Michelin star restaurants! It was our first Ryokan experience but definitely will not be our last now. Such an incredible place!
Really enjoyed my stay. The room overlooked the river and had great views of the mountains, too. It was a nice break from being in the busier parts of Kyoto. You’re also super close to the bamboo forest and other lovely gardens.
The staff was attentive and super helpful, especially when it was pouring outside and they offered a plastic bag to cover my luggage without me even asking. It was very useful in keeping my belongings dry.
I can definitely recommend a stay here!
This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great.
Check-in was easy and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous.
Special gratitude goes to the staff and management, who...
Very nice and clean hotel. Really convenient as it is next to the subway station and they provide free shuttles to popular tourist destinations like Bamboo Forest.
Me and my friend stayed here one night and we were completely blown away by just about everything this place had to offer. The grounds are small and intimate but meticulously taken care of. You feel like you stepped into a different time or even a movie set. We saw two wedding parties here; one when we were checking in and one in the evening but it didn't feel intrusive. Someone met us at the gate for check out (we were a little late :( if you book here you should try to come right at 4pm), she...
Getting to the Onsen is a bit of a hike but was pretty easy to navigate. It's settled back into the hills/mountains about 30 minutes north of Kyoto station. We arrived on a rainy day and it was absolutely magical. The hills had mist rolling over them and it felt like we were walking through a Miyazaki film. The staff was attentive and spoke excellent English. The room was clean and had its own bathroom (no shower). We were in a tatami mat room and it was perfect for two people. The window opened...
This was a beautiful ryokan to stay. The staff are very helpful to english speaking visitors and can accommodate very well. This ryokan offers you to dine in an intimate setting so you're in a separate room with your guests/partner. Other ryokans have you sit in a restaurant style setting so you're in a large room with open tables. Our waitress and maid was super helpful and very caring for us while we stayed. The ryokan has several onsen locations in the building, they rotate one days the men...
An amazing and unique traditional stay in a small town outside of Kyoto. It is secluded and we were still able travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Kobe. Public transportation is provided multiple time every morning, and although I did a lot I highly recommend walking around the trails, and temples. My favorite temple was right behind the hotel, and it held amazing views and was not crowded at all. This was by far one of the coolest experiences i’ve had, and if you are looking for a traditional...
The place was tasteful and had everything I needed. In particular there was a microwave oven in the room which I really appreciated. The hosts were super-nice. One the best places I have stayed in Japan over the past 30 years
