The Reverie Saigon

10/10 Excellent

"Room 3825 was very clean. Housekeeping was very good. Staff especially concierge and front desk were exemplary. The concerns I have are with the need to upkeep the rooms especially (1) the electrical outlets at the bedside and at the office-desk. These need to be updated to include USB ports (need USB-A, B, C) as every one now needs to recharge their communication devices (cell, backup batteries, ipads) at night. We shouldn't have to charge the cell phone in the bathroom using the "shaver outlet" (and run back and forth to the bathroom to check messages when the phone rings at night) (2) The refrigerator is overheating because the back vent of the cabinet is sealed by a concrete wall and so heat generated by the heat exchange pump goes nowhere. The hot air re-circulates inside the cabinet holding the refrigerator (so imagine opening the door of the cabinet and getting hit by a blast of hot air) (3) New light switches with better labels so guests don't have to guess which switch is linked to which light. Positives: Free ice bucket ( a temporary solution) Free sodas/juces Attentive staff Engaging staff who STEP FORWARD TO HELP when guests approach the desk"

Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills

"A great idea if you want to experience ba na hills without all the crowds. Go out at night after the last cable car leaves and see the village crowd free. Hit golden hour at the bridge for another crowd free experience there. The bridge gets so packed you can’t move during the day. The hotel itself was a bit dated in some areas. The bathroom we had, had a toilet in a stall that was even tight for me and I’m only 5’2”- so my 6’ tall husband could barely move in there. We couldn’t figure out the AC but luckily it was a chilly night when we went so we didn’t really need it, the ceiling fan was enough for us. Beds were a bit hard, but for only one night we made it work. Breakfast buffet was awesome! So many options to choose from. I wouldn’t do ba na hills in any other way personally."

"Check in was fast with polite staff, we were given a cold refreshment on arrival. The room was as described and we were provided with duvet and pillows for the sofa bed. We had a great view! Room service was efficient and good portion size and good value for money. HOWEVER, the menu didn’t really suit our food requirements, it was nearly all breakfast items with lots of egg variations. Not typical room service menu, given the Marriott is a worldwide brand. The drinks are a little expensive, down to import costs maybe. Location is a very good, a short walk to Starbucks /Highlands coffee, Han market . Overall a good stay, the windows are sealed and there are no balconies. It’s very much a corporate hotel ."

"This is our favorite hotel in Vietnam. We try to stay at the mid price point places and this really delivers value for the price. The staff is consistently great. We can see good hotel management at work The property is wonderfully decorated. Little details everywhere. Very pleasant Location is a block from old town Good home base for exploring the city Breakfast is very very good. A lot of choices including non-Buffett options We have stayed there three times and won’t go to Vietnam without staying there again"
