"The manager was kind and responsive when we checked in and the welcome towel and drink was a delightful surprise. We had a treehouse room that was beautiful and the natural decorations on the beds were amazing. There were many cute Instagram worthy places to sit and take pictures. The food was fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. "

"What a cozy and well-located room in Placencia. Our cabana was right on the beach. The busy and fun bar next door had music playing till midnight, but for us, that was great -- just made it more like beach living. The rooms are in great condition and the staff is wonderful. Santiago keeps the beach and room area in perfect shape and is very attentive. We felt at home, and we could walk the Placencia sidewalk for coffee, breakfast, and night life at all times. There is a public parking lot very close, so we parked our rental. Cannot wait to come back! "

"Great stay staff were all wonderful room was clean and spacious. Restaurant was awesome both food and service. Pool was large has a swim up bar. We were welcomed on arrival by an alligator (leave him alone and he’ll leave you alone) and lots of Iguana’s. Would recommend renting a vehicle or golf cart the village is about a 30 minute drive. "

"We loved our stay at umaya. The beach is awesome. The whole pool area/chairs/dock and set up are awesome too. So great that you can also borrow Kayaks and paddle boards (which we did) to have morning paddles when the ocean is calmer. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff helpful and accommodating and the food at the hotel was good as well. There are also many restaurants and a supermarket (10 min drive) close to umaya without having to always make the drive into Placencia town (about 20/25mins) Oh those speed bumps! We would for sure come back to umaya again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "
