Loved the shuttle option. The pool was beautiful along with the setting. The staff seemed to lack communication and although they were not very busy during our stay the breakfast service was slow but still nice. When we arrived we had to ask for the soap dispensers to get fixed since they weren't working but as soon as we asked they got repaired.

This is an amazing resort, the infinity pool over looking the beach is incredible. The staff was pleasant and cordial. This is a beautiful hotel, and we had a pretty good stay, but it could have been way better. The staff: hit and miss, some staff members were very good, others barely ok The room: Nice large king room, very comfortable bed, only 2 towels (wish we had more), the AC was quiet but not powerful enough, we had it on the coldest setting and it was still quite warm in the room The pool: beautiful, but a bit on the cold side The restaurants & bar: Insanely overpriced, ridiculous wine selection: only 1 option for white wine which was mediocre but we were charged $14 USD for a glass. It's a nice hotel, but it's overpriced

We stayed in the beachfront villa. The accommodation is beautiful. The pool the beach the location is amazing ! BUT… But, the service is beyond slow for everything. Ridiculously slow. I believe we got food poisoning on the last night or a very bad infection. The restaurant food was good, but expensive and again the service was slow. And the hotel was very quiet!!!!! After spending $5k on a weekend getaway I would have hoped for a greater level of service

Let us down

We wanted to like Itz'ana more than we did. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and stunning with a perfect setting. The bartenders and wait staff were so friendly and great. But something was missing. First off, I think the front desk and concierge need more help or more resources. Pretty much everything we asked for they seemed like they wanted to help but the hotel couldn't (like an early breakfast because we had to get on the road early, or recommendations for dinner or a spa in town.) Also, the really cool bar they are famous for was closed for construction while we were there. I know construction can be unavoidable, but some locals in town told us the bar is like never open anymore because of staffing issues. One final gripe, the massages cost upward of $200 for 90 minutes. That's more expensive than NYC, SF, and LA. I simply cannot understand why they would be so expensive, especially since the massage room is just a converted hotel room.

We had an AMAZING stay at Itz’ana!! We were impacted by winter storms in the southeast and missed our first night. They gave us a credit equal to the value of the night for food and drinks at the resort. They were responsive prior and during our trip. Truly wonderful service. The grounds themselves were gorgeous. I felt clean and safe the whole time. The food was good. Highly recommend
