Air Force Museum of New Zealand is just one of the attractions in Wigram, Christchurch so you might want to stop by during your trip. It's also full of great shops and restaurants, so you can spend the afternoon having a wander. If you want to experience more of the culture Christchurch has to offer, head to Riccarton Park, University of Canterbury, and Riccarton Road.
Golden hotel is the perfect stay once landing in Christchurch and before leaving again. Very clean and nice space. Staff is also responsive and kind with inquiries. There is a Vietnamese cafe right on the main lobby so very convenient for a quick pick me up. Overall, would stay here again so definitely recommend!
A great place to stay in Christchurch. Conveniently located off the main road to the airport. Access to sights and activities is excellent.
Also easy to get to some great cafes,restaurants, and shopping areas. Staff are super nice and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable. Bill and Pat went above and beyond to make my stay excellent.
Rooms are quiet and comfy and have a full kitchenette.
Some also have spa tubs. Highly recommend the Airport Palms.

I played on 8 golf courses within a 15 mile radius during my two-week stay.
Also took a 45-minute bus ride into Christchurch on Christmas Day from a bus-stop 5 minutes from the motel.
And boarded the TranzAlpine scenic rail train at a station 10-minutes away.
Walked to McDonald's, KFC, and New World grocery and other shops within minutes.
Sarah, the owner/manager made several special efforts to make my extended stay very comfortable.
We traveled as a family - four kids and mother in law, and got two suites. the outside of the building is very nice, but its next to a run down building so we were a little skeptical when we saw it. But the fears were misplaced. Great location, inside was great. More set up for the backpacker crowd - lots of rooms to meet or meet up with people. Great vibe. But it wasn't at all bad for families.
Location on Cranford is a little out of town, so it's nice - not as crowded and congested. There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance, and others a short drive.
Loved the room. Clean, comfortable. Netflix available! Free wifi. Did laundry our last day. Clothesline available if sunny.

The Hotel Elms is a nice property in a convenient location. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and professional and welcoming. I always enjoy staying at this property and will do so again.
We drove in from Queenstown to Christchurch area and were tired and knew that we were a bit removed from the city, but it turned out to be the perfect place. Comfortable bed, pretty décor, kitchen...you really couldn't ask for anything more...wish we would have stayed longer.
This hotel doesn't look like much out front. Inside The place looked new and sparkling. Room was excellent. Secure covered parking was great.
Service was minimal as there is one person at desk, and not 24hrs.
Area is walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. Area has many east asian businesses and restaurants but western food (Italian, American) food are also in walking distance.
