"Lovely art deco style hotel in old Manila. Lovely rooms and common areas."

"I booked this place expecting a regular private condo as advertised, but it turned out to be a shared apartment with two other guests. I had to share the bathroom and kitchen, which was never mentioned clearly on the website. The owner refused a refund when I tried to cancel, even though the pictures online were completely different from the actual property. "It is a fairly decent hotel but i neighborhood is quite rough and the rooms are very basic. The pool exist but it is very small it is more of a soaking tub. The restaurant in the hotel is very expensive and because they have a restaurant they charge a 50% surcharge on anything you try to order in until 10:00 p.m. when they're restaurant closes. Not bad for the money i guess in manila but nothing special"

"A little dated as with many hotels in the Ermita/Malate area but a good location, friendly staff and good restaurant make the Manila Lotus an easy choice, especially for the price. My only quibble is having no top sheet but only one blanket in addition to the bottom sheet."
