The room was very cozy and connected with a small "garden"with flours on the surrounding wall. Equipped wIth a sofa and a small table with two peg chairs, it was ideal to sit and sip to a cup of tea (tea was available in the room or a glass of wine. It was a problem finding a parking place, but the owner solved us both to a parking garage by arrival and from the hotel back to the parking garage by departure. We were 100% satisfied with our stay.
Nice and clean almost looks like a futuristic hospital. Daughter kept referring to it as the Pyschosphera. Breakfast was really good, lots of options. Coffee kinda sucked, never really hot, forget about a proper cappuccino. Just order it from the bar and pay the difference.
Didn't like that they charged for every little thing. Want to swim? Have to buy a cap and flip flops. No tea or water in our "basic room". No bathroom privacy, no conditioner, no vent for bathroom steam. Pillows really did...
Excellent and friendly staff, they could not do more to be helpful. Spacious room, well appointed. Fine dining at 8:30 pm is a set menu, very well prepared and presented. Fine wines available. Be aware, the property can be difficult to locate on GPS. Nearest landmark is Casa Marcos restaurant, which is near the waterfalls. Once there, go South and their road is marked, to the right. Highly recommended when visting the waterfalls and castles in the area.

Essentially there were zero amenities but that seems to be primarily due to the historic nature of the building. Property was a spotless and quaintly beautiful, exceptional staff.
We are a family of 4 and stayed at Villa Gadea for 11 days. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The kids loved the pools and the view from the room was amazing. We highly recommend this hotel.
From check in to check out everything about this hotel was outstanding! The room was clean and had a great seafront view with balcony. A tremendous breakfast buffet. I have traveled the world and stayed in the top hotels, I would put Gran Hotel Sol y Mar n my top 5!
We just loved this hotel. It's been lovingly restored, with great attention to detail, and the owners are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was a treat, too. I just wish we'd had a longer stay and more time to enjoy the cozy lounge areas. We hope to come back soon.
