The best location, walkable distance to everything you’d want, and in a very cool neighborhood. The pool is nice, everything is very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. 100-% recommend Hotel Luz! All the staff, from the owners to office staff and breakfast room staff, were courteous and helpful. The breakfast options were delicious. Our room, Los DosToros on the second floor, was large with a sitting area and storage. There is a towel rack in the bathroom, not just hooks, so your towels can actually dry. All areas were attractively decorated. The central location is ideal for walking to great restaurants, parks, churches and markets. Parking is provided about a block away. If steep steps are a challenge, there are also ground floor rooms.

This is a wonderful little hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff as well as clean, comfortable accommodations. The owner/operator family clearly takes pride in the business as noted by the many little details. The hotel is very convenient to the old town square where many museums and cultural activities occur, but if you rent a car, they also have an arrangement with a manned parking area. The complimentary breakfast is also of exceptional quality with some of the best coffee we've had. If we return to Merida, we will definitely stay at the Luz en Yucatan again!
