The room, and the hotel were clean and comfortable. The history of the hotel was very interesting and we really enjoyed reading about it. The hotel was being renovated when we were there. It is a tired beauty--so hopefully the renos will restore some glory! The room was tidy. The beds were comfortable--but we really would appreciate having a selection of pillows. The staff was helpful and lovely. The location was fantatic for our forays into downtown and the restaurants in the area. We didnt use the pool this trip. We will go back for the package that includes breakfast. It was by far the best of any hotel we have stayed at (and that is a lot).

Room was clean and staff were friendly but the rooms and bathroom in particular are very outdated. The tub is literally yellow ceramic and the carpet is a pattern from the 70s. Pool was nice and no one at all was in there except my husband and I. I was pretty disappointed the hot tub was out of service though and from other reviews it seems like that is frequently the case. Overall a decent cheap place to stay but it definitely isn’t a fancy option.

As a single guy there for work, I am OK with the hotel. If you were to bring your family to Thunder Bay, I would look elsewhere. The entire 3rd floor heavily smelled of marijuana 24/7. I am pretty sure there are people living at the hotel based on all the garbage left in the hallways and the smell, and the screaming babies. The hotel staff is friendly and thankfully the entrance doors are locked at all times. The lobby is beautiful. Great location. Typically, there were homeless people hanging around the doors.
