An Excellent Choice in Urubamba
There are very few places that can truly be rated 5 star. For us, five star means, beautiful grounds, peaceful, clean, and safe location, and helpful staff. During our stay, Kuychi Rumi earned this highest rated due to the fantastic rooms, room service, and their prompt manager Johan. He went above and beyond his call of duty to make sure we felt at home.
After all, how often do you get your refrigerator stocked the previous night just because you have to leave at 5 am the next morning? Most hotel staff wouldn't care. But Johan does :-)
On our first morning, Johan took us on a 30-minute walk around the town and telling us so many things about the Peruvian rural life. In a country where finding English speaking people in rural areas is difficult, this proved to be a great introduction to the culture.
As for the room itself, it is fabulous. Lovely gardens, butterflies, flowers blooming, a nice patio, and a fireplace in the room that Johan helps to start. Location is convenient, with a dollar and 10 minutes away from the main market.
I highly recommend Kuychi Rumi.
