Was very impressed. Very nice hotel. Breakfast was perfect. Places to just sit & chat & not be stuck in the room to do that. Was there for a family reunion. Hotel was the perfect location ~~family all live in the area. Have a wedding in January. Thinking that’s where we’ll B staying again. R&J. New Jersey

Spacious room. Some stains on the carpets in the room and in hallways. Staff pleasant. Breakfast....horrible. Can't even cut the "French Toast." Sugar coated cereals. Almost all processed junk food. How about at least some bananas?!?!

The room was very nice. Great water pressure, comfortable beds. Plenty of space. The breakfast was above average for an American hotel breakfast - there was eggs, sausage, home fries, French toast, bagels, cereal, fruit - etc.

My husband and I love to stay here every time we go to Carbondale. The staff is always friendly, hotel and rooms always clean, and just the most peaceful place (no noise or traffic sounds, always peace and quiet) . Love it

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful manager when we checked in. The lobby is very clean and beautiful. The bar and restaurant were staff were very polite and efficient. Food and drinks were delicious! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, but could use an updating and painting refresh. But our stay was very nice and I would recommend this hotel.

I liked the convenient (and free) parking, the landscaping in the courtyard, the elevator, the clean room, good-working (and quiet) air-conditioner (& controlled by a thermostat on wall), a good bed with a variety of bed pillows, nice big tub-shower, with convenient pump bottles of shampoo, body wash, etc, and easy room check-out. :)

I really like the large anthracite coal figurines in the lobby. This hotel is located in a coal mining town and the presentation was wonderful. There were some local restaurants within walking distance. Thanks for the experience, John

This was our fifth stay at Hotel Anthracite, and we continue to be very pleased with the accommodations. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Our only disappointment was the breakfast buffet. Although there was a nice selection of hot items, including French toast, eggs, sausage, and potatoes, they were all served cold. We hope this was just an isolated issue, as it was the only negative aspect of an otherwise enjoyable stay.
