The stay at Master Builders was excellent on almost all points. Bed, amenities, staff were all top notch. The setting is beautiful--very much "in nature" and the view of the water very pleasant. The small museums on site were interesting. The only negative comment I would have regards the restaurant. Staff were great but I felt the food was just ok. I expected a better culinary level. However, taste is subjective and I would not let the restaurant deter anyone from staying at Master Builders and enjoying the serenity. Visiting Beaulieu was also a plus in the area.

Great stay. Staff all amazing particularly the lady who served us at dinner, in the lovely cozy restaurant. Great food, both at dinner and really good choice for breakfast. Really good location and our room (19) had amazing views. Only criticism was a bit more attention needed to the cleanliness. While overall it was ok it was let down by the attention to detail ie edge of shower and all skirting boards in our bathroom fell a little short of what I would expect. I would however still recommend definitely worth a visit

The location is about as good as it gets in Hampshire. Stunning setting. The hotel is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and the rooms, although a little small, were absolutely fine for our needs. If we were being picky, the shower tray filled up with water but it may have been because there’s an optional power switch which we discovered is probably best left off. The staff were very polite, smart, helpful and welcoming. Wendy, on reception, was exceptional. She changed our restaurant booking and helped us when we needed it. There is ample parking, walks, the museum and shop and stunning views of the river. Highly recommended!

Truly tremendous venue by the Beaulieu River, surrounded by many interesting historic places to visit and the wonders of the New Forest. Excellent accommodation, lovely meals, good bar and plenty of caring for our dog too.

Great staff, unique location , excellent food , couple of small issues with the bathroom, quite a lot of limescale on the shower controls & adjacent tiles. Hot water in the basin took forever to even be lukewarm. Everything else up to scratch & would stay again .

This is the second time we have stayed at Master Builders Hotel and it was just as good as the first. This time our room was on the second floor facing across the Beaulieu river with views through all three windows. As it is an old building be prepared for squeaky floor boards and some sound which may come through the interior walls. The food in the restaurant is pricey but is decent quality which is worth the money. The menu does cater for various tastes and wallets. The walk along the river to Beaulieu is thoroughly recommended as is a trip to Beaulieu motor museum.

Bucklers Hard Return

This hotel is all about the location, although the welcoming and the level of service was great too. Rooms were exceptional, along with the meals we enjoyed here.
