I spend a week with my son in this hotel. It was very great spacious Room with a seating balcony the staff are the sweetest people. It was close to everything you needed very safe didn’t feel uncomfortable not once and close to the airport.

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Tazi for two nights in September 2026. Check-in was straightforward, but things became rather strange when we returned to our room at the time recommended by the hotel staff and found someone else lying on one of our beds. We had to persuade him to leave; he told us he was a doctor. This was particularly concerning as all our luggage was already in the room. We asked to move rooms, but while this was being sorted out, another person simply walked into our room, used the toilet and walked out again. We were given another room, but later discovered that the window didn’t lock, so we asked to return to our original room. Back there, we then found that the shower didn’t work and a plumber/handyman had to be called to repair it. Overall, Hotel Tazi has a real feeling of former grandeur and there is something charming about the building and its character. With a little more care, maintenance and attention to security and room management, it could easily regain some of that grandeur. Unfortunately, our stay was memorable for some rather unexpected reasons!

It was a terrible hotel. Room was never cleaned in the 4 nights I stayed there. The Airconditioner was fan only and would not cool. The window handle was broken and would not close. The toilet flush was broken. There was no shampoo in the bathroom as indicated in amenities. The stair case and corridors were filthy and may have been cleaned years ago. One of the staff was very rude and kept saying that I should not expect much as it was a 3 star hotel, that is when I asked for something that was promised to me in writing when I booked. The photos in hotel description does not reflect the true picture. In my opinion, this hotel should be removed as the description is very misleading. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand! The only correct statement was that is was very close to the main square. Bad experience overall!

The front desk refused to acknowledge we had a reservation. They said they do not make any reservations online or by Expedia. They showed a note book on which they make reservations only manually. Since our car destination was there and we had luggages we took a room for 400 Dirhams per night. Room was quite big, but having a very bad smell, broken bathroom sub standard beddings and a poorly working air conditioner with no remote to regulate the temperature. It is the second time any hotel refused Expedia booking. The first one was a hotel in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

On arrival I was told quite aggressively that they did not have a reservation for me. If I wanted to stay I had to pay them again. I paid for the first night and it was agreed I could pay the rest when I left but two days later a security guard banged on my door at 11pm summoning me to the reception where I was told in no uncertain terms that I had to pay there and then for the rest of my stay. The door to my room did not open more than 18 inches and when locked it rattled in the frame about ¾ of an inch. Light fixtures were loose on the wall. The bathroom light did not work at all. There was a heavy, full length mirrored door just propped up against the wall {!} Clothes hangers were piled up at the bottom of a cupboard together with the broken rail they should have hung off. Cracked and broken tiling had been repaired clumsily with some sort of cheap filler that did nothing to stop numerous insects from crawling out from underneath it in the toilet and around the sink. At night people roamed the passages at will, shouting and banging doors, arguing loudly and generally making the place feel unsafe. All ignored by the security guards. The water in the main swimming pool was the colour of black ink. Just looking at it made feel like getting my stomach pumped. Clearly it had not been used for many a year. This hotel is grubby and dilapidated with reception staff seemingly ignorant of any kind of courtesy. Avoid. But it is in a good location.
