Great budget stay in a brilliant location. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, and the service was friendly. I didn’t find the noise an issue and the other guests were respectful. Simple, welcoming and with more soul than a standard hotel. I also had an interesting chat with another guest about the history of the place.

Brilliant place to stay, friendly, accommodating staff, we had a fantastic time, thanks! A bit out of the cbd but lovey quiet location opposite park, and tram stop right out front of the property was perfect for getting around. We will definitely be back

Budget stay

Certainly budget accommodation but still clean and with very friendly hosts. Central to Carlton Gardens and many near by cafes and restaurants. Tram stop right out front is very helpful.

Friendly hosts, clean room and common bathroom facilities. You defintely get what you pay for though. Don’t expect anything too flashy. Great for solo travellers or back packers. Fridge could do with a clean out.

最大のメリットは安いこと。あとは博物館やメルボルン大学に近い。 日本人の考えるようなホテルではなく、シェアハウス形式で、シャワーやトイレは共同。壁が薄いのもあるが、他の客が大音量で音楽聴いてたりテレビを観てたりしたら凄くうるさい。シャワーやトイレの状態も他の客次第。

It was ok but by no means the quality I would have expected. The room was cold and I had to ask for a heater. The first 2 were broken so they gave me their personal heater. That worked well. It was loud there. The piano they played was extra loud, the divide between the rooms was thin so I could hear everything from the room next to me and the people outside my window were loud. The bed rolled around easily so I had to be careful not to bump it much when getting into it. The bed itself was mostly comfortable. It only had a blanket with only a fitted sheet. I had to ask for a second blanket because it was so cold. The staff initially took us to the wrong room which meant they were invading someone else's privacy when they finally got their door open to let us in. The bathrooms were shared but well maintained. There was also a shared kitchen and main room that were ok. It's not really a place I felt comfortable in but it worked out ok for the night.

I would definitely recommend staying here, particularly if you are after a short stay or backpacker. My friends and I booked the quadruple family room, a large bed with two bunk beds. The price was great, cheaper than a hostel. The rooms were private, clean and the beds were very comfy. The rest of the facilities in the property were clean and convenient. Great location, tram stop outside and less than 10mins walk from the main fitzroy road. Can’t recommend this place enough, Alan and the team did a great job in accommodating our stay.

Staff were very courteous, and there were no issues with cleanliness. However, my room had beds with wheels, and I’m not sure why. The beds kept moving because of the wheels, which made it difficult to sleep. Another issue was the connecting door to the room next door. Instead of a wall, there was a door between the rooms, and the guests next door were talking throughout the night on several occasions. Even small noises, like sneezing, could be heard clearly. Rooms like this should not be given to customers, or at least a proper wall barrier should be installed. For the money paid, it did not feel worth it.

I recommend that you book elsewhere

Beware - this is not a private hotel with wheelchair access. There are stairs to navigate at rhe front of the property, at the front door, plus with the ground floor. The disabled bathroom is not an accessible bathroom. The water is set to over 80 degrees, the taps are three inches wide with no spindles. The toilet has a right sided bar but at the incorrect height and the toilet is not an accessible toilet. The tiles are slippery when wet, with the shower base ona curve. The accessible bedroom is not accessible, and is two old spring beds tied together to form a double bed. Directly outside the bedroom is a large otto bin. Insecticide is sprayed approximately every hour and enters the bedroom. Add to that, one has to either hand over your photo id, either passport, drivers licence, or photo card, which is said to be returned to you when you check out, to obtain a room key. Alternatively, one can pay a non-refundable $50 to obtain the room key without having your ID taken off you until you depart. When paying your $50, 2 photos are taken of your ID, stored on two different mobiles, and despite paying the $50, one still needs to negotiate for the return of the ID. One also has to complete a comprehensive Rules of House, which if not signed or you appear to have broken, will lead to immediate eviction. I do not recommend staying here.
