The inn was wonderful we enjoyed our stay there first morning no hot water but quickly fixed by the time we finished breakfast we had warm water. When they say four a clock check in that’s what it is no earlier. You do have to pay extra for the water fall 4 pounds per person. Food was excellent. Lots of walking trails very quiet and peaceful. We did enjoy our stay we talked about returning.

Very traditional, rustic Old Inn. Filled with character and log fires inside but rooms were clean and modern. Great.

Weekend Break

Stayed at The Green Dragon as It was a good base for our planned walk at Ribblehead. Our room was very nice. The bathroom was OK, few big cobwebs though. TV signal was poor and there were no mainstream channels that we could find. The pub is nice and old, very busy for a village pub and the food was very good. The car park was very busy most of the time so we had to park on the road.

Lovely stay

Lovely charming pub with much history. Recently refurbished rooms were very nice, spacious and comfortable. Plenty of refreshments in room plus daily water. Pub food was lovely and normal pub prices. Breakfast was also lovely and the staff very welcoming. Our only complaint as such was that once your order for hot food breakfast or dinner is taken, it can take between 40-60 minutes to atrive. However, if your relaxed its not a problem, if your a key jangler this may annoy you! The staff are apologetic for this and it was down to low staffing not for lack of effort. Great location for many attractions, will happily return.

10/10 Excellent

The room we booked was spectacular and they accommodated our request to have the single beds pushed together. The surrounding area is beautiful as is the property itself! Our room was separated in a different area from the inn which I felt gave us more privacy - and a fantastic view of the rolling hills! The room was clean, larger than expected and had an abundance of items to use ie: kettle with plenty of hot drink items, bottled water, a fridge, a large smart TV, ironing board and iron, wardrobe, hairdryer and several towels - all bases are covered! The staff were very helpful whilst we stayed and also were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was a real treat too - quality ingredients, juice and hot drink options and even cereal options too. The ONLY snag? The parking at the back of the property gets taken up VERY quickly so it’s important to stay mindful of this! Not a fault of the property, but other people aren’t considerate when parking so several spaces are often wasted to people taking far too much room - aim to arrive earlier to get a spot! Would absolutely love to visit again and hopefully in the future we will be back.

A beautiful 13th Century Inn with original flagstones and beams etc. A great selection of beers and the food is excellent. The appartement we stayed in is just behind the Inn and very quiet. We will be back.

Lovely, newly renovated property. Lots of walks and villages around 2 miles away with pubs. The Waterfall to the rear is a sight as well. The food in the green dragon is out of this world, really excellent. Room newly renovated, clean and the WiFi was fantastic as well. Did think it a little stingy that they charged £15 for a dog to stay, however there was a tennis ball, dog biscuits and a pack of poo bags in a box on arrival. Would definitely come back again

10/10 Excellent

Very comfortable overnight stay - cosy bar , enjoyed a drink - the room where we stayed was in a separate block but only a very short walk across the entrance to the car park - lovely room , very comfortable with little extra touches which we really appreciated . Fresh ground coffee and a cafetière, very nice cups and saucers, a fridge if we needed it, a couple of packets of cookies and 2 small bottles of Harrogate water , one spring and one still . Comfy bed , large screen tv - shower room with shampoo , body wash - in fact everything we could possibly need for our stay . Tasty breakfast and easy check out - would definitely recommend the Green Dragon and hope to return .

Proper Pub, log fires and countryside

Fantastic stay at The Green Dragon. Characterful pub with great beams, open fires and proper beer on tap. The hosts were brilliant, we stayed in the family room which has recently been completely refurbished and was excellent. Comfy bed, great decor and very welcoming. Breakfast was 1st class, complete with the resident pub dog ‘Lady’ making sure everyone was looked after. I know this place will only get busier as they ramp up business following the take over so book as early as you can. We will be back

Newly refurbished accommodation was to a very high standard. The bar also serves as a dining room and is not ideal in that mode, but the bar and other pub rooms are so traditional that the ambiance is extradinary. One could quite believe that it hasn’t changed at all in last 200 years!

We stayed here because of the connection with the show All Creatures great and small. We took several nice walks to the waterfall on site, and a trail to Hawes for lunch. The history, building offers wonderful unique charater and an appreciation for life in this part of England 1,000 years ago. We prepaid this property thru expedia and wish it were an option to pay onsite when we arrived, as our plans changed as they often do during travel to leave a day early avoiding a long day in the car traveling south. Unfortunately, no refund for that last night stay. We recommend the Green Dragon Inn. Cheers!

A Lovely Getaway in the Dales

We received a warm welcome from the staff at this very popular Inn in the village of Hardraw. Our room was compact, clean and cosy, with an ensuite shower, basin and toilet, very nicely decorated and furnished and with a view over the adjacent churchyard. Due to the popularity of the Inn together with the fact that it shares a carpark with the adjacent Hardraw Force Waterfall & Tearoom, parking can be tight, but we were lucky and managed to find a space throughout our two night stay. Breakfast is served in the various bar areas of the Inn and due to it being early in the season, so still a bit chilly weather -wise, there were roaring log fires in each of the dining areas which were very welcoming!! The breakfast menu is varied and staff were happy to take orders for different variations to suit guest's appetites. The food was fresh and well prepared, with ample portions to set you up for the day exploring the Dales. If you choose to take your evening meal at the Inn - ( and the food is well recommended) - be sure to book a table in advance, as the Inn is obviously very popular with locals as well as tourists and the restaurant areas were full to capacity on the night we enjoyed a meal there and the great atmosphere generated by the diners and the roaring log fires mean this is not a venue for a quiet romantic dinner!! All in all this is a lovely old Inn providing good homely hospitality and accommodation, ideal for a base to explore the surrounding Dales.. recommended.

Damn nice Guinness 😀

The area was amazing . The room was well appointed however I had a couple of issues. I had little or no hot water / heating throughout my visit. There was an infestation of fleas in the kitchen window area. The fridge door shelf was broken meaning I couldn’t store orange juice in it. However with all this aside , I really enjoyed my stay and the bar has some of the best Guinness I’ve ever had.

6/10 Okay

No food

The hotel was advertised as having a restaurant. After a long day at work and travelling I arrived to be told the restaurant wasn’t open. I was told there were places I could drive to but after a long day didn’t really want to. I got myself showered and changed. When down in the bar other residents were there and the next thing pizza arrived for staff and residents. Quite annoying that nobody had let me know when they were aware I was wanting food. The next morning I went to make a coffee, the milk was sour!!! On a positive note it was lovely and so were the views.
