6/10 Good

The hotel is nice and centrally located. Disappointingly, the staff was not welcoming or accommodating. There is no business office that can help print boarding pass or other documents you’ll need like cruise documents. The night desk staff looked like he’d rather sleep. The room is comfortable. We did not get additional shampoo when empty. The service was not at par for the price we paid.

6/10 Good

Perfectly ordinary, grossly overpriced.

Perfectly ordinary, grossly overpriced hotel. Didn’t advise of $100 refundable fee for incidentals. It was reimbursed, but still...bed low to the ground and only moderately comfortable. The biggest insult is the $18 charge for breakfast if you’re not a Silver or higher Hilton Honors member or some such thing. For the price of the room, they could throw in a piece of toast or some cereal.

Hotel is was walkable to many attractions. I booked this hotel originally when it had a restaurant, found out about a week before we arrived that it had closed. Also, if you are staying longer than a couple of days, good luck. Small closet and no dresser. You will be living out of your suitcase, especially if you are traveling with a partner.

Location, location, location. Small but comfortable rooms. Bathroom lighting was a little strange.

Great location!

The only complaint is they don’t tell you breakfast will be $18 additional. Hotel was great.

Like the hotel but was a little noisy. I think something happened next door with all the sirens( 5 fire trucks and 3 squad cars

loved the location, the design and the large rooms. It was worth the price to be so centrally located.
2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

High ceilings made the room fell much larger, the bed was comfy, and it was super quiet, all resulting in a very restful night. The bathroom was huge and had ample shelf space for toiletries (A rarity!). The European style breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. The staff was super polite and accommodating.

2/10 Poor

Involuntarily Relocated to Fleabag Hotel

I received a phone call at 4pm on the night of my “reservation” telling me that the hotel was oversold and I was being involuntarily relocated to a hotel across town. Not only was the hotel to which I was relocated extraordinarily inconvenient to my office across the street (the reason I booked the Ames Hotel in the first place), but it was also a roach motel. The toilet was falling apart, it was moldy and foul smelling, and the room overlooked a dark airshaft. I’ve been a business traveler for twenty years and have never been involuntarily relocated before. The hotel ultimately comped the price of the room, but it was little consolation for the experience and did absolutely nothing for me as the room had been charged to a business account. I would not risk the same thing happening again and will be staying at other Boston hotels in the future.

Property was great For the age of the building it was great and And there was nothing about the building I didn’t like.

The breakfast available was amazing, and the location is excellent...very walkable.

I would have preferred a bathtub to a giant shower.

Conveniently located downtown, within easy walk or short ride to landmarks. Staff was very accommodating at all times. I will consider this hotel as a place to stay during future trips to the Boston area.

Love this hotel

I love this hotel! I usually book straight with the hotel but they were sold out on their website- but still available thru Hotels.com. Could not have been happier as I was afraid I would get there and not have a room which was far from the truth!

First class all the way!

Spectacularly maintained historic property with all the modern amenities one could ask for!! Friendly, courteous, and helpful staff. Not sure what more you could ask for in such a centrally located hotel?
