I would strongly not recommend staying with Rivet Stays, and after this experience, I won’t be booking an apartment again. This was for me and my husband. From the start, the check-in process was unnecessarily complicated. Guests are expected to follow a long list of detailed instructions just to access the keys. To make matters worse, the company initially provided the wrong code for the key box, so I had to message them on WhatsApp and wait for them to send the correct one, frustrating after a long drive from Quebec City to Toronto.
The apartment itself was disappointing. It showed clear signs of wear and tear: dusty skirting boards, dirty windows, old bathroom sink, crooked curtain poles, and grimy curtains. When we arrived, the washing machine was constantly beeping and we couldn’t figure out why until we discovered a duvet left inside. The glass doors inside were awkward and impractical, and the overall space felt small, dark, and claustrophobic rather than the “stylish and comfortable” impression given online.
The bed was also uncomfortable, with the thinnest duvet I’ve ever seen in a hotel or apartment. I woke up feeling itchy after sleeping in it on both nights.
Overall, the experience was far from relaxing. The apartment felt poorly maintained and not worth the price. There are plenty of hotels that offer better cleanliness, comfort, and customer service without all the unnecessary hassle.
