The location is excellent for walking round all the historic sites, and down to the marina. However, the building is grimy, the rooms poorly furnished, and the facilities don’t match up to the description. Our first room had no balcony, looked out onto the opposite building wall, A/C units etc. Plaster fell off the ceiling when we opened the bathroom door. All the furniture was cheap, badly scratched and the room was in need of complete redecoration.
We moved to a “better” room - at least there was a window and a tiny, dirty balcony. This, though, suffered from the same poor furniture, the shower screen was literally falling out of its casing, flooding the floor when used. Road noise was a big problem, so take earplugs.
The bar is fake. It looks like a bar, but it’s just an area used for washing up breakfast dishes. There’s a vending machine for a few drinks and snacks. Breakfast was cheap and simple, but chaotic - e.g. no cups for a while, or no fruit, the chairs and tables are very close together and rickety.
Thankfully, we were in Palermo to see the sights, and the hotel is right next to many good restaurants in the little alleyways of Vucciria so we spent very little time in the room. And the bed was actually quite comfortable. I won’t be returning.
