My son has just come back from his trip and he said he had a great time. We’ve stayed with you before but he said the food was still top notch and they enjoyed the refurbished room. Many thanks for making his trip special.

great location and striking building. Good food. Breakfast was less good as self service with many steps and food not topped up when empty.

Nice stay with friendly staff and the food was great. Our room was clean, the bed was comfy but it was extremely dated, the walls were also really thin, could hear everything in the adjoining rooms.

I had booked a twin room for 3 nights via Hotels.com. and the image on the website did not represent the room allocated to us. The room we were allocated was a very small twin room with the beds tightly next to each other looking like a double bed, with insufficient space to walk around each bed. This was not acceptable. The one bedside table provided had to be moved to another part of the room, which made the room very cramped indeed. We requested a proper twin room with beds a good distance apart. We were told they were all taken due to a wedding but that we could be moved the next morning. We also discovered overnight that the mattresses in the room were totally worn out and inadequate and went nearly flat when trying to sleep. You could feel every single coil in the mattress which meant we had a very poor nights sleep. The mattresses should have been replaced long ago. We were moved to another twin room the next morning and the manager apologised profusely for any inconvenience. This room was exactly what we had been expecting and the mattresses were really deep and seemed brand new. We enjoyed the rest of the stay including a swim in the swimming pool. The staff were extremely helpful and obliging at all times. The dinner on the first night was good and the breakfasts excellent.

Lovely old hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful which is what would make me return. Food was very good but I felt quite pricey for certain items. Room was quite small for two sharing but we had everything we needed. Slippers and robes were a nice touch as were the biscuits. Coffee at breakfast was lovely. Shower tray was lethal, very slippy and I would recommend some sort of grippers be put down. A fridge to keep water bottles cold would have been appreciated especially as it was so hot when we stayed.

Car is essential as hotel located away from village. Spacious car park. Hotel has big park around with well maintained footpaths. Although, room required some maintenance, shower had some minor mould patches, bed was noisy and unstable. Room didn’t had A/C and walls had very little insulation, we could hear our neighbours switching lights or sockets on and off.
